Lesson#1
In this deck, we'll explore three important rates of change: speed, density, and pressure. You'll learn the formulae that connect them to other quantities, and how to rearrange these formulae to solve different types of problems.
Lesson#2
Let's start with speed. Speed measures how quickly an object covers a certain distance. It's a rate of change because it tells you the distance travelled for every unit of time, for example, miles per hour or metres per second.
Quiz#3
What three quantities are related by the formula for speed?

speed, distance, time

Quiz#4
How do you calculate speed if you know the distance travelled and the time taken?

distance divided by time

Lesson#5
A helpful way to remember the formula and its rearrangements is the formula triangle. Imagine a triangle split into three sections. Distance is in the top section. Speed and Time are in the two bottom sections. To find a quantity, you cover it with your finger and see the calculation that's left.
Quiz#6
Using the formula triangle for speed, how do you calculate distance?

speed multiplied by time
