Let's start with converting a fraction to a decimal. The line in a fraction simply means 'divide'. So, to convert any fraction to a decimal, you divide the top number by the bottom number. For example, for the fraction one half, you calculate 1 divided by 2, which gives the decimal zero point five.

Now, let's turn a decimal into a percentage. The word 'percent' means 'out of one hundred'. To convert a decimal to a percentage, you simply multiply it by 100. For example, the decimal zero point five, when multiplied by 100, becomes 50. So it's 50 percent.
