Lesson#1
To talk about the past in German, you often use the Perfekt tense. However, for modal verbs, it's much more common in spoken German to use the simple past tense, called the Präteritum. In this deck, we'll learn these simple past forms.
Lesson#2
Let's start with 'können', meaning 'can' or 'to be able to'. In the Präteritum, this becomes 'konnte' to express a past ability or possibility. For example, 'Ich konnte schwimmen' means 'I could swim'.
