You'll learn how to justify your methods, present and analyse data effectively, and evaluate your entire investigation, which are all crucial skills for earning top marks.

In the exam, you won't just be asked to name a data collection method; you'll need to justify it. This means explaining why your chosen method is the most appropriate for your specific enquiry. For example, if you're investigating how a river's cross-profile changes downstream, you might choose systematic sampling. Your justification would be that taking measurements at regular intervals, say every 200 metres, provides unbiased and representative coverage of the river's long profile.
