Lesson#1
In this deck, we'll explore compound measures. These are measurements that are calculated by combining two or more other measurements. We'll focus on two of the most common examples you'll meet in GCSE Maths: speed and density.
Quiz#2
What is a compound measure created by combining?

two or more other measures

Lesson#3
Let's start with speed. Speed is a way of measuring how fast something is moving. To calculate it, you need to know the distance an object has travelled and the time it took. The formula is: Speed equals Distance divided by Time.
Quiz#4
How do you calculate speed using distance and time?

distance divided by time

Lesson#5
Often, you'll know the speed and need to find the distance or the time. To do this, you need to rearrange the formula. A helpful memory aid for this is a formula triangle. Imagine a triangle split into three parts. The quantity on top of the formula is always at the top of the triangle.
Quiz#6
In a formula triangle for speed, distance, and time, which quantity is placed at the top?

distance
